Haida Annual Awards | 2020 Outstanding Teacher Awarding Hangzhou

2021-01-20 16:47

2020 was a special year. Facing the big impact of the epidemic, even though it was hard, Haida was still united to overcome difficulties. The award ceremony for outstanding foreign teachers of the year 2020 was quite different from that in previous years. In response to the call of epidemic prevention and reducing personnel gathering, this week Haida held small-scale meetings group by group in office, and awarded the outstanding foreign teachers to thank them for their unremitting efforts and hard work in year 2020.

Representative Speeches

Daniel — Loyal Teacher Award

'This will be my fifth year at my school. In that time, I have taught grades from 1 to 8 and I have had the pleasure of teaching some wonderful students as well as a few not so wonderful ones! Each class is different which makes my job enjoyable. I do not think of my job as work and I find on most days I am happy to go to work. You do not always find that in most jobs, so I am grateful.

Last year was a difficult time for everyone. I spent ten months in my hometown of Grimsby after getting stuck during Chinese New Year and not being able to get back to China. Living at home with my family made me realise how great my life is here. I did not realise how good I have it and I think this year I will appreciate that more. Thanks then to Haida who supported me during that difficult time and helped me to come back to Hangzhou. My school manager and general contact have always helped me whenever I have asked so a special thank you goes out to them. I hope that 2021 is a much better year and everyone has a great Chinese New Year holiday.'

Ingmar —Dedicated Teacher Award

'2020 has been a strange year. I thought 2020 would be the year I'd get everything I wanted. Now I know 2020 was the year that I will have appreciated everything I already have.

A couple of months ago, one of my players was very upset about the situation and asked me, "Coach, what is it like to be confined for 3 months without football?" I wanted to sound motivational and replied,"Well, it's not fun at all. But you need to stay positive and keep progressing no matter what. Work hard in silence, let your success make the noise. Tough times in life give us opportunities to really appreciate the good times we have had and will have again".'
