Review of Tea Culture Trip

Tea Culture

On April 16th, a sunny spring day, Haida organized a fulfilling and enjoyable team-building activity for foreign teachers in the picturesque Meijiawu Tea Culture Village.

Tea Picking

Located in Hangzhou, this is a famous production site of Longjing tea. Foreign teachers put on bamboo hats, aprons, and baskets and eagerly entered the tea garden. With the guidance of the master, they all learned the techniques and methods of picking spring sprouts and started their first tea-picking journey. While picking fresh spring sprouts, they enjoyed the fragrance of nature surrounding them.

Tea Roasting

Next up was the step of roasting tea. The fresh tea leaves foreign teachers picked were gathered together and poured into the tea furnace. First of all, the roasting tea master demonstrated two methods of manual roasting, and teachers followed to learn and operate. They fully realized that manual roasting tea requires both skills and patience. Then, the master led them to watch the process of roasting by machine, which amazed everyone. They couldn't help but feel that modern technology significantly enhances tea production efficiency, while also deepening their knowledge and understanding of Chinese tea culture.

Tea Tasting

Another highlight of the activity was the tea art performance. The tea master presented the tea-brewing process of Longjing green tea and Jiuqu hongmei. First of all, she explained how to select different tea utensils based on different types of tea. Then, she demonstrated the technique of tea brewing and explained the differences in flavor of each brewing process. The tea master's skills were adept, graceful, and full of artistic sense. Teachers listened attentively, experienced the wonderful feeling brought by tea tasting. and better understood the essence of traditional Chinese culture.

Happy Ending

Through this tea culture tour,  our foreign teachers not only felt the profound connotation and experienced the charm of Chinese tea culture, but also made new friends. The entire team-building activity ended in joy and fulfillment.
